Donate Now to Nottinghamshire
There is now an exciting opportunity for donors to set up named endowment funds of a minimum of £5,000. This fund is then entitled to secure match funding of 1:1 in the first fifteen months and 1:2 thereafter. A match of 1:2 match more than doubles their overall contribution, and with an 'early bird' discount of a 1 to 1 match would more than treble their net donation.

*A government condition of the Grass Roots Endowment Match Fund is that no more than 25% of the total match challenge may come from any single donor. As a result, only £259,900 of any single donation is eligible for Grassroots endowment match funding.
To encourage greater take up, the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation (NCF) is offering for the first fifteen months only a 1:1 match and then moving to a 1:2 ratio. A range of options is available for donors from one-off large donations to smaller donations over 3 years. The maximum match in any one year is £259,900, although there is nothing stopping any donor giving more and or spreading the donation over the 3 year period to maximise match opportunities.
CRITERIA
- The fund can be named: THE 'BLOGGS' Donor GRASSROOTS FUND 'NOTTINGHAMSHIRE'.
- The named fund has to agree to provide support for a voluntary and community sector work in a general field of interest and or area.
- For example:
Area: Covering the whole of the county or city or one of the 7 districts of the county. - Possible themes: Children and Young people, Environment, Older or Vulnerable people, Community and Economic Regeneration, Health and Wellbeing, Safer and Stronger Communities.
- The Donor(s) can have as little or as much involvement in helping choose the beneficiaries as they wish, by attending the appraisal panels of grant applications or simply receiving a report of all the deserving projects their funds have supported.
- The Donors will agree the criteria in partnership with NCF and we will set out in an agreement, details of how your funds are to be dispersed and how we will facilitate this.
- NCF will receive a one off 5% set up fee to negotiate, agree and set up your endowment. The annual growth of your investment will then be distributed to your chosen beneficiaries, 1.25% of which will accrue to NCF to cover the administration of your fund.
- NCF uses Coutts as our investment banker and we use a low to medium risk investment strategy, in line with terms set out by the Charity Commission. Full details of our policies, portfolio and procedures will be given to all donors in a signed contract.
